Cancer hospital awarded highest rating

Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s location at 1331 E. Wyoming Ave. was awarded Five-Star quality scores — the highest possible rating — by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The ratings evaluated patient experiences at 3,553 hospitals nationwide from July 2013 to June 2014.

The Five-Star rating was awarded to just 251, or 7 percent, of the eligible hospitals.

The new hospital rating system assigns hospitals a rating of One to Five Stars based on the results of the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey. The rating is based on a cumulative score from 11 survey measures - — including such factors as doctor-patient communication and patient recommendations — that measure patient experiences and satisfaction. ••
